Glossary
Aluminium - soft and
lightweight metal with a dull silver-grey
appearance; It has excellent corrosion
resistance and durability due to the protective
oxide layer. Aluminium is a recyclable material.
Anodisation process -
it causes the natural film on aluminium to be
greatly increased in thickness. The naturally
occurring film is very thin and attached to a
soft ductile metal, it is easily damaged.
Building up this coating provides very useful
properties for the aluminium surface such as
increased resistance to corrosion and abrasion.
The permanent and attractive appearance of
anodised aluminium makes it an ideal material
for use in the home or in industry.

material for impregnating resins for laminates
