At Chapman Boulevard, lighting plays a quiet yet defining role in creating a sense of timeless luxury. Thoughtfully layered illumination brings scale, sculptural form and warmth to the home's generous volumes and strong architectural geometry.
A standout feature of the home is the custom ring installation, developed through an iterative and collaborative design process. By exploring different configurations, proportions and layouts, the final composition was carefully refined to complement the scale of the void and create a sculptural focal point that feels both timeless and effortless.
As About Space, Residential Lighting Designer, Jodie Meier explains: "Collaboration is fundamental to the successful execution of any design. With a custom piece like this, once we had established the design direction with the client, it was imperative to engage the construction team early to ensure the concept could be realised as intended. This involved careful consideration of structural support, pre-wiring and access requirements, as well as coordinating timelines so the broader construction program could continue without interruption."
Elsewhere in the home, restraint was key. "With the Alessia pendant, the intention was to keep the lighting beautifully understated, allowing the stone benchtop to remain the hero. We selected a coloured glass to echo the tones within the stone, while its subtle curved form introduces softness and complements the bronze tapware, creating a cohesive and balanced composition."
Against a refined palette of travertine, walnut, Calacatta marble and bronze, light reveals texture, enhances materiality and creates calm, timeless spaces designed to endure.
