About: Luke & Sassy Scott x Liberty Interiors

There’s a difference between a well-designed space and a home that truly feels like the people who live in it. In the renovation of Scott’s apartment, brought to life by Luke & Sassy Scott in collaboration with Liberty Interiors, the brief was clear: create a space layered with personality, warmth, and unapologetic colour.

What emerged is a vibrant, expressive home—one that balances bold design decisions with thoughtful functionality. At the centre of this transformation sits lighting, carefully considered by residential lighting designer Annalise, whose approach ensured each moment of the home not only works—but feels right.

The Entry: A Bold First Impression

The entry sets the tone immediately. Colour-drenched in Irish Coffee by Haymes Paint, the space is rich, grounding, and immersive—drawing you in with a sense of warmth and depth.

Paired with wall panelling by James Hardie, the architectural detailing elevates what could have been a simple corridor into something far more intentional.

Lighting here plays a dual role. A white track system with gunmetal spotlights introduces a clean, directional layer—highlighting texture and guiding movement—while the Binelli travertine wall light adds softness and material contrast. The combination ensures the space is not just visually striking, but practical and welcoming.

Living & Dining: Warmth in Every Layer

Moving into the living and dining zone, the home opens up into a space that feels both relaxed and refined. Again, wall panelling by James Hardie provides continuity, grounding the space with subtle texture and architectural rhythm.

Suspended above the dining area, the Caroline Pendant becomes a focal point—its soft silhouette and diffused glow bringing balance to the richness of the surrounding palette. It’s a piece that doesn’t compete with the boldness of the interiors but instead complements it, adding a sense of calm and cohesion.

Here, Annalise’s lighting design is particularly evident. Each layer—ambient, task, and decorative—works in harmony to create a space that transitions effortlessly from day to night, from entertaining to unwinding.

Guest Bedroom: Personality on Full Display

The guest bedroom is where personality takes centre stage. A vibrant wallpaper sets the tone, injecting energy and character into the space from the outset.

Lighting continues to support this narrative. The Caroline Pendant reappears, this time bringing a softer, more intimate glow, while the Sher Table Lamp adds a tactile, grounded layer—perfect for winding down.

Together, these elements create a room that feels curated yet comfortable. It’s expressive without being overwhelming, a space that invites guests in while still feeling unmistakably part of the home’s overall story.

Designing with Light

What makes this project resonate isn’t just the colour, or the materials, or even the furniture—it’s how everything is brought together through light. Annalise’s approach ensured that lighting didn’t just sit within the design, but actively enhanced it. From highlighting textures and architectural details to softening bold palettes and creating atmosphere, every decision was made with both function and feeling in mind. The result is a home that doesn’t just look beautiful—it lives beautifully. A space that reflects Luke & Sassy Scott’s vision, Liberty Interiors’ bold design direction, and ultimately, Scott’s personality at its core.
