Designed as a bespoke family home, this residence is a bold yet balanced composition of mood, texture, and refined detail. With its taupe tones, tactile surfaces, and sculptural lighting, Bayview is not just a home—it’s an immersive experience.

A Vision Grounded in Contrast

From the outset, Bayview was conceived as a family home with an industrial edge—layered, moody, and confidently unique. Featuring Dekton by Cosentino and organic textures like travertine, the design walks the line between raw and refined. Every surface tells a story, from the rich patina of stone to the grain of timber cabinetry, creating a space that feels grounded yet contemporary.

Lighting with Intention

Lighting played a defining role in shaping the atmosphere of Bayview. “Intentional use of accent lighting helped emphasize the depth and beauty of the hard finishes like the travertine wall feature,” says Baden Behrens, Director of Belle Casa. Carefully selected fixtures draw out texture, cast thoughtful shadows, and create moments of quiet drama—transforming surfaces into sculptural focal points.

Designing for Mood and Movement

Rather than approaching lighting purely from a functional standpoint, Belle Casa adopted a sensory-driven method. “I visualised both entering each space and experiencing the mood of each space,” Baden explains. “I then focused on how I wanted to feel while being in each space.” This emotional blueprint informed everything from light temperature to fixture placement—ensuring each room shifts in tone and energy as the day progresses.
