Together, they have crafted a home that balances clean, modern lines with a deeply welcoming, lived-in warmth.

The lighting scheme is built on layers—each one serving a distinct purpose. Decorative pendants become sculptural centrepieces, ambient wall washers provide subtle glows to soften surfaces, and thoughtfully placed task lighting ensures practical functionality without compromising design. The result is a cohesive environment where every room feels purposeful and polished.

For Mariah, lighting is a cornerstone of the styling process. “Lighting enhances the overall mood and feel in a space—it can elevate a room, draw attention to elements, all whilst making everything feel more polished,” she explains. At Aberfeldie, lighting influenced everything from the chosen textures and colour palette, to how furniture and decor were positioned within each space.

Feature lights were treated as heroes—anchors around which rooms were styled to enhance their impact. In return, these luminaires highlight design details, bring softness to structured lines, and create an inviting ambiance throughout the home.
